More Random Pics

Serge and I are doing well and have been busy as usual.  The Christmas Markets are in full swing and we've had our first (and second and third!) snow.  Everything is so beautiful, all lit up with Christmas lights and covered in a light layer of white.  Sometimes I look outside and feel like I'm living in a village of Gingerbread houses!  Serge has been getting more comfortable with his German and with his job - if anyone is counting yesterday was his 1 month anniversary at work, so that means we only have between 23 and 35 more months left on our European adventure!  Yikes, we still have so much to see and do! :-) I'm still taking language classes and trying to get us (finally) unpacked!  We're really enjoying ourselves over here, and I wanted to quickly share some photos we've taken of those great times! :-)

Now that's a BIG tree!
The Christmas tree right outside our apartment, which is now covered in snow and Christmas lights - It's really beautiful!

Wee!!  Playing on a playground near our house

Hiking on a beautiful Fall day

Sergio, taking in the view of Wetzlar

Uh oh, too much nature.  Someone stepped in dog poo! :-)

We hiked up to Kalsmunt, but the door to the castle ruins was locked.

Kalsmunt

We found another playground!

"Over the river and through the woods" will literally be my walk to school next semester!
We practiced my walk to VHS before I went to take the placement test.

Volkshochschule-Wetzlar, where I will attend classes next semester

Serge, back in Salzburg!
Leica (the camera company) had an exhibit in Wetzlar with a 360 degree panoramic photo of Salzburg, so Serge showed me where he lived and studied during his semester abroad.

Our house is the one on the right corner!

Seriously, doesn't it look like we live in a children's storybook?

My chef, making dinner before the Troy game

On the menu: Fried Chicken and "Southern Style" French Fries!
Just like we're back home :-)

Serge getting comfy to watch the Gamecocks WIN!
Pardon the boxes - our stuff from the US had just arrived

Field trip to the Dach Cafe in Gießen
Nice view of Gießen
The town was destroyed during WWII, so it's much more modern than Wetzlar.
